Adopting A  Suzara Sheltie

Let me take a moment to explain the  Suzara Adoption Process.  It is our responsibility to make
sure that you are aware of the commitment you are making when purchasing a sheltie from Suzara.

First of all, we only have puppies available a couple of times a year, we want to make sure that our
pups are going to the right home.  Therefore, we require a telephone interview with the prospective
buyer. After the phone interview is complete and we are satisfied with the outcome, we then
require you to send in a down payment.  The current required deposit amount is $300.00 USD.

This ensures us that you are serious about purchasing the dog. Please make sure that all
questions and concerns are answered and dealt with during the phone interview before you send
your deposit.  Keep in mind, after meeting you, I reserve the right to not sell any dog to you if  we
feel it is not in the best interest for your family's or the pup/dog. We must feel like the  pup/dog is
going to a good home. If we decide not to sell to you, you will be refunded your deposit.

Secondly, as we do not always have puppies available it is based on a first come first serve basis
and a down payment is required to hold your puppy.  The order in which the deposit was received
makes up the order of whom gets first pick of the litter (after myself and the sire's owner has
chosen). If for some reason you can not take the puppy/dog after the down payment has been
made it
will not be refunded.   We have too many people interested in getting a dog to hold a puppy
and then have someone change their mind. If you place a deposit  on a dog, and after 30 days you
have not made any contact with us to make arrangements or follow through with previously made
arrangements to pick up the dog, the dog may then be resold and you will forfeit your deposit.

We
will not ship internationally. We will ship to the U.S. and Canada Only. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Third, If for some reason you come to Suzara and we cannot provide you with the dog you are
looking for; then we will either refund your money or let you have first choice in the next litter. We
reserve the right to decide which it will be. In order for this to happen you must have informed us
before hand what you are looking for in a dog. We will not refund your money if we feel you have a
satisfactory choice of pups/dogs to choose from that fits your description of what you are looking
for.

Fourth, Any dog or puppy you purchase from Suzara needs to be taken to the veterinarian within
72 hours of pick up to ensure wellness. In the event that the puppy/dog is not well or has some
sort of defect that you were not told about prior to  purchasing the pup/dog, You may return the
pup/dog in person with a letter in writing from the vet stating what the problems are.  You will be
refunded your money in full or will be put on the waiting list to receive first choice from the next
litter. The choice of whether a puppy or refund will be given, is decided by the seller.  Also, all of
our dogs are sold with a 1- 3 year health guarantee(length depends on age of dog). This guarantee
ensures that the dog will not have any genetic defects such as hip dysplasia, defects of the eye
that will render the dog unable to CERF, hypothyroidism, or vWD disease, etc for 12 - 36 months
from date of purchase.  Guarantee will only be valid if dog was taken to the vet within the first 72
hours (proof of visit will be required) from date of purchase. The dog has not been abused,
neglected, malnourished by the buyer.

This guarantee is only good for the original purchaser and is null and void if the buyer sells the
dog.  The contract is null and void if the dog has been bred.  The seller is not responsible for any
expenses incurred for shipping, vet bills,  etc.  In exchange for your refund or replacement dog,
you must return the original dog to us.  You will be given the option of keeping the original dog and
forfeit your right to a replacement dog or refund. If you choose to keep the original dog, then a new
contract will be required to be signed with the updated information in it.

Fifth, Any pet quality/companion sheltie that you purchase will be sold on a spay/neuter contract.
There are no exceptions to this.  We want to encourage responsible breeding and will only allow
show quality dogs to be bred to ensure that we are maintaining and enhancing the breed.  Dog
must be spayed/neutuered within 12 months of date of birth. Verification of spay/neuter is required
from your vet before the dog is 12 months of age. Also, before registration papers and pedigree
will be sent we must receive verification that the dog has been spayed or neutered. At receipt of
the verification of spaying/neutering, we will then send via mail the registration papers and
pedigree.  If the dog is bred after signing a spay neuter contract then penalties will be applied.
Penalties are as follows:

$2000.00 penalty applies for breeding dog on a spay neuter contract

$2000.00 penalty applies per puppy as a result of the breeding

$2000.00 penalty applies if dog is over 12 months of age and was sold on a
spay/neuter contract and has not been spayed/neutered.

Also, the dog and any puppies that are a result of breeding this dog on a spay /neuter contract is
subject to repossession by the seller.  Please understand that you will not be able to register your
dog with the AKC or UKC until we receive the proper verification and send you the paper work.

If this dog is being sold on a show and/or breeding contract it is understood that the dog will only
be bred with mates that meet the standard requirements set forth by the AKC and UKC.

We will sell no puppies and will not allow any of our dogs to be bred to any other breed other than
another show or breeding quality shelties. No Exceptions. WE will not sell to puppy mills or third
parties with any intent to use the dog in a breeding program that is unethical or will not enhance
the breed. If it is found out that such practices have taken place we reserve the right to confiscate
the dog and penalize the current owner.  Penalties will be $2000.00 per offense.

Finally, If at any time after purchasing a Suzara Sheltie, the dog becomes available to go to a new
home, you must give us the first chance to take the dog back. Every Sheltie that comes from
Suzara always will be welcomed back home  if you are unable to take care of it any longer.  We at
Suzara care about our shelties. We would rather have your dog come back here than to be taken
to a humane society or stranded or given away to someone who may not take care of it.  If you
should decide to return the dog to us, we will take the dog back but no money will be refunded.
The dog will need to be returned to us at your expense and with a clear Health Certificate from
your vet ensuring that there are no illnesses such as Parvo, Rabies, Kennel Cough, etc.  We can
not take a dog back with out the health certificate.  When you adopt a Suzara Sheltie you are
becoming a part of our family. Please take into consideration that this is a serious life long
commitment and be sure that this is what you want before making a deposit.

Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.
